Buena Vista, Colorado
Snowmobiling Trails

Buena Vista is located at the junction of U.S. Highways 24 & 285 at an elevation of 7,954 feet. It's geographic location offers easy access to trail systems in both the Leadville and Salida Ranger Districts of the San Isabel National Forest. The town is minutes from national forest trailheads and is a major supply point for those snowmobiling in the region.

Avalanche Trailhead Salida Ranger District Avalanche Trailhead is located 6 miles west of Buena Vista on Cottonwood Pass. It provides access to Segment 13 of the Colorado Trail that leads from North Cottonwood Creek to Chalk Creek.
Cottonwood Lake Campground Salida Ranger District The immediate area surrounding Cottonwood Lake Campground is wooded by small aspen trees. The site is located in the central Rocky Mountains.
Denny Creek Trailhead Salida Ranger District Denny Creek Trailhead provides access to the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness, as well as Hartenstein Lake Trail, Browns Pass Trail and Mt. Yale Trail.
Hagerman Pass Leadville Ranger District Visitors traveling the entire Hagerman Pass Road from Turquoise Lake Road (Forest Road 105) to Fryingpan Lakes Road (State Highway 4) drive 22.5 miles.
Halfmoon Road Leadville Ranger District Halfmoon Road begins on Fish Hatchery Road (#300) and continue to the Champion Mine. The first 7 miles are accessible to 2 WD vehicles.
St. Kevin Road Leadville Ranger District St. Kevin Road can be used for many recreation opportunities. Four-wheel drivers, motorcyclists, mountain bikers and ATV riders can enjoy it during the summer months. Snowmobilers enjoy it during the winter.
Turquoise Lake Dam Trail Leadville Ranger District The trail runs from the Sugar Loaf Dam to May Queen campground, paralleling the shoreline of Turquoise Lake.
