Lake Trail is an old path used by miners to carry supplies by mule
to the mining camps. It connects with Forest Developed Road 230

14,196'. The route from the Denny Creek Trailhead leads 3.5 miles

Lake Trail leads 3.3 miles from Cottonwood Pass Road to the lake.
Users will find good fishing for native cutthroat trout in the cold

Trailhead to the Colorado Trail. The western end of this segment

segment of the Rainbow Trail extends 13.5 miles from Big Cottonwood
Creek to Stout Creek south of Salida. It offers excellent views
of the Arkansas River Valley and the Sangre de Christo Mountains.

Creek to Bear Creek. Most of this segment follows the eastern border

Creek Lakes are accessible from the Rainbow Trail. The trail leads
west into the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness Area. No mechanized or
motorized vehicles are permitted on this trail. |

Tunnel Lake Trail leads users 5 miles over high alpine terrain.
The trail never dips lower than 11,000'. Weather should be an important
consideration when deciding to hike or ride this trail. |

loop provides a relatively easy day hike or ride. The total mileage
is approximately 3.5 miles to complete the loop. Fishing is good
in Browns Creek and Little Browns Creek. |

trail leads 2 miles west from Monarch Pass to Waterdog Lakes. The
lakes are surrounded by 12,000' peaks that form the Continental
Divide. |
