Campgrounds

Leadville is located near the junction of U.S. Hwy 24 & State Hwy 91 at an elevation of 10,430 feet. A wide variety of recreation opportunities are available to campers in the Leadville area. The mountainous topography allows for fishing, hiking, biking, backpacking, horseback riding and more. Other attractions include two recreation areas centered upon reservoirs. Twin Lakes and Turquoise Lake Reservoirs provide access to water-centered activities including boating and fishing. In winter visitors can enjoy downhill skiing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

Baby Doe Campground Leadville Ranger District Baby Doe Campground is one of 8 campgrounds surrounding Turquoise Lake. It has 50 reservable sites with a maximum trailer size for the campground of 32'.
Belle Of Colorado Campground Leadville Ranger District Belle of Colorado Campground is one of 8 campgrounds surrounding Turquoise Lake. Tent sites only are available at this campground.
Dexter Campground Leadville Ranger District There are five Forest Service Campgrounds in the Twin Lakes area: Dexter, Lakeview, Parry Peak, Twin Peaks and White Star. Dexter Campground has 24 sites that are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Elbert Creek Campground Leadville Ranger District All campsites in the Halfmoon Drainage are first come, first serve. The Elbert Creek Campground has 17 sites available, and an allowance for trailers 16' and smaller.
Father Dyer Campground Leadville Ranger District The following eight campgrounds surround Turquoise Lake: Baby Doe, Belle of Colorado, Father Dyer, Molly Brown, Printer Boy, Silver Dollar and Tabor. The Father Dyer Campground has the capacity to house trailers up to 32'.
Halfmoon Campground Leadville Ranger District All campsites in the Halfmoon Drainage are first come, first serve. Twenty-four sites are available in the Halfmoon East & West Campgrounds with the maximum RV length of sixteen feet.
Mayqueen Campground Leadville Ranger District The following eight campgrounds surround Turquoise Lake: Baby Doe, Belle of Colorado, Father Dyer, Molly Brown, Printer Boy, Silver Dollar and Tabor. The Mayqueen offers 13 reservable sites of 27 without flush toilets and sinks.
Molly Brown Campground Leadville Ranger District The following eight campgrounds surround Turquoise Lake: Baby Doe, Belle of Colorado, Father Dyer, Molly Brown, Printer Boy, Silver Dollar and Tabor. The Molly Brown Campground offers 47 reservable sites.
Parry Peak Campground Leadville Ranger District Perry Peak Campground is located west of Twin Lakes Reservoir on Highway 82. Many recreation opportunities are accessible from this campground including fishing, canoeing, hiking, motorcycle riding, four-wheel driving and mountain biking.
Silver Dollar Campground Leadville Ranger District The following eight campgrounds surround Turquoise Lake: Baby Doe, Belle of Colorado, Father Dyer, Molly Brown, Printer Boy, Silver Dollar and Tabor. Thirty-nine of the Silver Dollar's sites are reservable with the capacity to house trailers up to 22'.
Tabor Campground Leadville Ranger District The following eight campgrounds surround Turquoise Lake: Baby Doe, Belle of Colorado, Father Dyer, Molly Brown, Printer Boy, Silver Dollar and Tabor. Sites at the Tabor Campground are not reservable.
Twin Peaks Campground Leadville Ranger District There are five Forest Service Campgrounds in the Twin Lakes area: Dexter, Lakeview, Parry Peak, Twin Peaks and White Star. Thirty-nine sites are available at Twin Peaks Campground on a first come, first serve basis,
Whitestar Campground Leadville Ranger District Whitestar Family Campground is one of five campgrounds surrounding Twin Lakes Reservoir. Reservation status of the 68 campsites at Whitestar vary between first come, first serve and reservations accepted.
