Fairplay is located 21 miles north of Antero Junction on U.S. Hwy 285 at an elevation of 9,896 feet. The  campgrounds near Fairplay provide easy access to boating, backpacking, fishing, hiking, biking, four-wheeling, and horseback riding. Winter activities include snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.

Aspen Campground South Park Ranger District The Aspen Campground consists of 12 family campsites each with a table, fire grate, and parking spur. Recreation opportunities include fishing in Jefferson Lake and hiking the Colorado Trail.
Blue Mountain Campground South Park Ranger District This campground consists of 21 individual family campsites, each with a table, fire grate, and parking spur. Recreation opportunities include activities in and around Elevenmile Reservoir.
Buffalo Springs Campground South Park Ranger District The Buffalo Springs Campground consists of 17 family campsites, each includes a table, fire grate and parking spur. This site provides access to a plethora of recreation opportunities in the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness and Antero Reservoir areas.
China Wall Road South Park Ranger District China Wall Road is short, approximately 2.5 miles one way. It begins on the Tarryall Road and descends into the Tarryall Creek drainage.
Cove Campground South Park Ranger District This campground consists of 4 individual family campsites, each with a table, fire grate and parking spur. Recreation opportunities abound in this region including biking, hiking, motorcycling, boating and fishing.
Fourmile Campground South Park Ranger District The Fourmile Campground consists of 14 individual family campsites, each with a table, fire grate and parking spur. Fishing, exploring mining sites and hiking are favorite activities of visitors to this site.
Happy Meadows Campground South Park Ranger District Happy Meadows Campground consists of 7 individual family campsites, each with a table, fire grate and parking spur. Its located near Elevenmile State Recreation Area and Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.
Horseshoe Campground South Park Ranger District This campground consists of 19 individual family campsites, each with a table, fire grate, and parking spur. The area offers opportunities for fishing, hiking, biking and motorcycle riding.
Jefferson Creek Campground South Park Ranger District Jefferson Creek Campground consists of 17 individual family campsites with a table, fire grate and parking spur. Nearby attractions include fishing in Jefferson Lake and Creek, and hiking the Colorado Trail.
Kite Lake Campground South Park Ranger District The Kite Lake Campground consists of 7 sites, each with a table and a fire grate. This is the most popular starting point to hike fourteeners Mts. Bross, Cameron, Democrat and Lincoln.
Lodgepole Campground South Park Ranger District Lodgepole Campground is located approximately 21 miles northeast of the town of Fairplay, Colorado. This campground consists of 35 individual family campsites.
