Canon City, Colorado
Four-Wheeling Trails

Canon City is located on U.S. Hwy 50 west of Pueblo, Colorado at an elevation of 5,348 feet. The town is minutes from trailheads in the San Carlos Ranger District of the San Isabel National Forest and is the major supply point for those four-wheeling in the region.

Blanca Peak Four-Wheel Drive Road San Carlos Ranger District This as an absolutely atrocious four wheel drive road that few actually drive on. It is used as the access point to Mt. Blanca.
Lily Lake Trail San Carlos Ranger District Lily Lake sports pleasant high mountain scenery and fishing enthusiasts may use flies and lures to tempt the cutthroat trout. Camping possibilities exists at the base of the switchbacks, but not at the lake.
Medano Pass Road Four-Wheel Drive Road San Carlos Ranger District Medano Pass Road makes a wonderful day trip for licensed, high-clearance four-wheel drive vehicles. It can include a stop in the Great Sand Dunes National Monument.
Music Pass Four-Wheel Drive Road San Carlos Ranger District Shortly after entering the National Forest is the southern trailhead for the Rainbow Trail and the beginning of the 2 mile four-wheel drive portion of the road which ends at Music Pass Trailhead.
South Colony Four-Wheel Drive Road San Carlos Ranger District If you have a high-clearance, four-wheel drive vehicle, make sure you are prepared for five miles of what could be the worst road you've ever driven.
Trinchera Peak Four-Wheel Drive Road San Carlos Ranger District Trinchera Peak is located above Cuchara and this four-wheel drive road gets you a few miles closer to the summit. Travel through conifers to tree line, where all but high clearance 4WD vehicles.
